北大で一番多い小鳥 / The most common little bird on the campus
年間通して目にする機会の多いシジュウカラ。後ろ姿はグレーと薄黄色の落ち着いた色合いでなかなか綺麗な鳥です
Japanese tit with gray and light yellow back, which we see all year round, is quite beautiful.

木の幹を上下に動き回ったりそりかえったり、キツツキのように木の幹を突いたり・・動きを見ていて飽きない鳥。ゴジュウカラも北大に多い小鳥です

ヤマガラ /Varied Tit
働き者のヤマガラ /Hard-working bird
地面に落ちた実を拾ったり、木の枝にとまって実を割る姿をよく見かけます
Often be seen picking up berries from the ground or cracking nuts open on a tree branch.
ハシブトガラ /Marsh Tit
名前から連想するよりは可愛い/ Prettier than the name implies.
ハシブトガラスと一文字違い。名前からはゴツい鳥をイメージするが、そんなことはなく可愛い鳥です。頭の上半分は真っ黒で目の場所がわかりにくいけど・・シジュウカラと一緒のところをよく見ます
As the top half of his head is black, difficult to locate his eyes. Often seen with Japanese tits.
ヒガラ /Coal Tit
小さいカラ /Smaller tit
冠羽が特徴の小さなカラ。北大には数は少ないです
Smaller tit with a nice crown feather. Fewer in number at Hokudai.
