キツツキ /Woodpecker

アカゲラは北大でお馴染みの野鳥。街路樹の木をひたすら突きます。そのためか、似たようなポーズの写真が多いな。

Great spotted woodpeckers, familiar wild birds at Hokudai, peck at trees incessantly on the street. Maybe that is why there are many photos in similar poses.

スズメほどの小さなコゲラはドラミング音も控えめ。でも「ギー」という大きな鳴き声はなかなかの存在感。♂の頭には赤い羽が隠れていてちょっとおしゃれ

A pygmy woodpecker, about the size of a sparrow, makes small drumming sound. But, the bird’s cry is so loud. Red feather hidden on the male’s head is a bit charming.
