ウミネコ / Black-tailed Gull
天売島中心部に程近い黒崎海岸にはウミネコのコロニーがあります。北海道海鳥センターによれば、5000巣以上営巣しているとのこと
There’s a large Black-tailed Gull colony at Kurosaki Coast, just outside central Teuri Island. According to the Hokkaido Seabird Center, more than 5,000 nests are found there.

天売島は世界一のウトウの繁殖地でその数はおよそ40万ペア。日没後、海で漁をしていたウトウ達は魚をくわえて一斉に帰巣します。多くの鳥が低空で帰ってくる姿は迫力満点！「・・おっと危ない！」
Teuri Island hosts the world’s largest colony of Auklets—about 400,000 pairs. After sunset, they all rush back with fish in their beaks. Watching them sweep in low over the hill is absolutely spectacular! “Yikes, that was close!
